Why duas come early

For many families this is the first thing a child learns, before Qaida, before prayer. The duas are short, they attach to moments a child already lives through every day, and they build the habit of turning to Allah naturally.

They are also a gentle first introduction to Arabic sounds, which makes the later Qaida work easier.

What we cover

We work through the supplications of a normal day, in the order a day happens:

  • Waking up and going to sleep
  • Entering and leaving the bathroom
  • Before and after eating
  • Leaving and entering the home
  • Travelling, and getting into a vehicle
  • The morning and evening adhkar
  • Duas for parents, for illness, and for difficulty

Each is taught with its meaning. A child who knows what “Bismillah” means before a meal understands why it is said; a child who only knows the sound may stop saying it once nobody is checking.

For adults

Adults often join this course alongside another, or as a short, focused programme in its own right. The morning and evening adhkar in particular are something many people want to establish properly and never quite manage to alone.
