Our tutors

A tutor is the whole experience, so we are careful about it

Any Quran academy can say its tutors are qualified. Here is what that actually means for us, how we check it, and how you get to judge for yourself before paying anything.

Verified Islamic qualifications

Every tutor holds a recognised credential: an Ijazah with a chain of transmission, certification as a Hafiz or Hafiza of the complete Quran, or a degree in Islamic studies or Arabic from an established institution. We check certificates directly rather than taking them on trust.

Teaching experience, not just knowledge

Knowing the Quran and being able to teach it to a seven-year-old in Ohio are different skills. Our tutors have a minimum of several years teaching students online, most of them families living in the USA, UK and Europe.

Male and female tutors

We maintain a balance of male and female tutors so that sisters are taught by women and brothers by men, without families needing to ask. Younger children can be taught by either, at the parent’s preference.

Safeguarding for children

Tutors who teach children complete safeguarding training. Parents may sit in on any class at any time, and we encourage it for younger students. Classes are held on standard video platforms you control.

Comfortable teaching in English

All tutors teach fluently in English. Arabic and Urdu are also available for families who prefer them. A tutor will never leave a student lost in a language they cannot follow.

Consistency

You keep the same tutor and the same weekly slot, so classes become routine rather than a scheduling exercise. If your tutor is ever unavailable, a qualified backup covers the session.

How matching works

You are introduced to your tutor when you are matched, and you meet them properly in the trial class. That first session is the real test, and it is yours to judge.

  1. 01

You tell us about the student

Age, current level, the language they are most comfortable in, and the times your household can genuinely commit to.

  2. 02

    We match a tutor

Based on gender preference, level, availability and, for children, experience with that age group.

  3. 03

You meet them in a free class

A full trial session, not a chat. You see how the tutor teaches and whether the student responds to them.

  4. 04

    You decide

Continue with that tutor, ask to try a different one, or walk away. Nothing is owed either way.

What if the tutor is not the right fit?

Then we change it, without fuss. A student who does not respond to one tutor will often thrive with another, and there is no benefit to anyone in persisting with a poor match. Just tell us, and we will arrange a trial with someone else.
