A great many Muslims can recite the Quran beautifully without knowing what any given verse means. That is a genuine loss, and it is easily addressed.

This course takes you through the Quran’s meaning verse by verse, alongside the context of revelation: who a passage was addressing, what was happening, and why it matters.

Taught for students living in the West

Our tutors teach in clear English and are used to the questions that come up for Muslims raised in the USA, UK and Europe. Nothing is brushed aside, and no question is treated as inappropriate to ask.

We stay within mainstream Sunni scholarship and are transparent about where scholars have differed, rather than presenting one view as the only one.

Vocabulary that compounds

Alongside meaning, we build your Quranic vocabulary. A relatively small set of words accounts for a large share of the Quran’s text, so students are often surprised how quickly passages start to become intelligible without a translation.
