An honest word about Hifz
Memorising the Quran is the most demanding thing we teach, and we would rather be candid about that than promise speed. It asks for near-daily effort over years, not months. The students who complete it are rarely the most gifted. They are the most consistent.
What we can promise is a method that works and a tutor who keeps you accountable to it.
The method
Every session divides into three parts, and the balance between them matters more than most people realise:
- Sabaq is the new portion being memorised today, usually a few lines
- Sabqi is recent memorisation from the past week, revised to secure it
- Manzil is older memorisation, cycled through so it is never lost
Beginners often want to rush Sabaq and skip Manzil. That is precisely how students end up having memorised twenty Juz and being able to recite five. Our tutors hold the line on revision, because revision is what makes Hifz permanent.
Fitting Hifz around school
Most of our Hifz students are children in full-time school in the USA, UK or Europe. We schedule classes early morning before school or in the evening, whichever suits your household, and we keep the same tutor and the same slot so it becomes routine.
All our Hifz tutors are Huffaz who have memorised the complete Quran themselves, and hold an Ijazah or equivalent qualification.
